Class 1 2017-2018

Our Learning

Class 1 cover a range of interesting topics across the school year. The topic overviews provided give an insight to some of the activities your child will be participating in and experiencing each term. Our children help with the planning and take ownership of their learning.

Bus Visit

We were lucky enough to have a visit from a Stagecoach sightseeing tour bus. We found out lots of interesting information and had a chance to explore the bus. We went for a ride on the bus and we sat upstairs.

York

We had a fantastic day out at York railway museum. We went by train just to make our day extra special.

Pizza Express

we went to Pizza Express in Durham where we found out how to make pizzas. We enjoyed making our own then eating them!

Tesco Farm To Fork

We went to Tesco to find out all about food from around the world. We found out about Fairtrade and the Rainforest alliance. We tasted different food and explored the shop.

Library

We went to Consett library to choose some books and we found out how to join the library and how to take some books home. We enjoyed exploring the fiction and non fiction areas of the library after we heard some fantastic stories.

Police

We enjoyed a visit from Jet and Ben the police dogs. Our local PCSO also came to visit to show us how a crime scene works and to let us look at the police van.

Making A Basket

We enjoyed planning and making baskets for Little Red Riding Hood to carry some cakes to Grandma.

We were very brave at Whitehouse farm. We got the chance to hold and feed lots of different animals.
