This section of our website details our curriculum and provides an overview of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework and the curriculum we offer for children in Years 1 to 6. There is also information about SEND at our school, British Values and Promoting Resilience.
Our curriculum is all of the planned activities that the school provides to foster a love of learning, develop knowledge and skills and enable individual growth. This includes the formal requirements of the National Curriculum as well as many other opportunities, chosen to enrich the lives and experiences of the children.
Our school motto is, ‘Love Life, Learning and Sharing!’ which is reflected in our curriculum. We establish high expectations for behaviour and foster many opportunities for sharing and pupil voice. Children leave Castleside Primary School ready for the next step in their education and their journey towards becoming responsible citizens.
We follow the new National Curriculum in England, launched in 2014.

British Values – Promoting British Values
British Values are at the core of all we do in school.
We take time to reflect on behaviour and encourage our pupils to be thoughtful, respectful, creative, open-minded members of our school community, the local community and the wider world. We promote democracy and resilience and give our children the opportunity to have their voices heard.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
At Castleside Primary School, we believe that inclusive education means providing all pupils with appropriate education and support alongside their peers. The Curriculum is all the planned activities that the school organises in order to promote learning, personal growth and development. Further information can be found in the SEN Information Report. If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment.
