Welcome to Class 3
We are a class of Year 4 children. Our teachers are Mr Burnett and Mrs Draper. Our teaching assistant is Mr Turnbull.
We hope you enjoy looking at some of the activities that we will enjoy this year. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please contact the school.
Our Learning
Class 3 cover a range of interesting topics across the school year. The yearly overview provided gives an insight to some of the activities your child will be participating in and experiencing each term.
Class Information and Homework
We have regular P.E. lessons and active minutes throughout the week. Please have a full and correct P.E kit, suitable for indoor and outdoor lessons, available at all times.
Spellings will be given out on class dojos and a weekly quiz will take place every Friday. Ten words will be chosen from the weekly list at random.
Activities are assigned on Mathletics and TT Rockstars for all children to complete every week.
There is also a homework grid of activities (linked with our class topic) for children to complete. Finished tasks can be uploaded in individual portfolios on class dojos.
Reading in Class 3
All of the children are strongly encouraged to read daily and to foster a love of reading, choosing to do it for pleasure.
Books are shared regularly and celebrated in class and we have daily reading time in school. Children are rewarded for reading at home or with an adult with Class Dojos.
We expect all children to read at least 4 times a week at home.
Our class text for this half term is ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’ By Onjali Q Rauf
- Mrs Draper is currently reading ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ by Suzanne Collins
- Mr Turnbull is currently reading ‘Charlie Savage’ by Roddy Doyle
