Maths
In line with our whole school curriculum aims, our maths curriculum intends to:
- Develop mathematicians who are independent problem solvers and who are confident and resilient;
- Enhance deep thinking through breadth of challenge for ALL children. Children will actively problem solve using developed depth of curriculum knowledge, applying to real life scenarios regularly;
- Develop mathematical vocabulary appropriate to age so that children can express themselves clearly when explaining their thinking.
Documents relating to our maths curriculum can be found below. We have taken the aims and objectives from the National Curriculum and used them to create the Castleside maths curriculum.
